Next, you’ll continue to the enchanting hilltop town of Cortona, one of Tuscany’s most picturesque gems.
Enclosed by ancient Etruscan and Roman walls, Cortona rises about 600 meters (1,968 feet) above sea level and offers breathtaking views over the Val di Chiana valley and Lake Trasimeno.

Stroll through its charming medieval streets filled with artisan boutiques, wine bars, and local delicatessens. Cortona is also home to many excellent restaurants serving authentic Tuscan cuisine — we’ll be happy to recommend a cozy, non-touristy spot for a traditional lunch.

This area is also famous for its outstanding wines, with the vineyards of Montepulciano and Montalcino just a short drive away.
