Just to the north of Florence overlooking the city lies Fiesole and Settignano, both offering the best views of the Arno valley. In Fiesole, clients visit the oldest archaeological site in the area where there are Etruscan and Roman ruins. The highlight of the site is the Roman Amphitheater which comfortably sat 3.000 spectators and is still home to summer opera and music festivals. Settignano is a short panoramic drive surrounded by rolling hills filled with olive groves and vineyards. Home to the famous sculpture Desiderio da Settignano is a lovely little hamlet and a great spot for a relaxing lunch before going back to the city. On the way you will visit the famous Piazzale Michelangelo and the medieval church of San Miniato al Monte.
It is possible to add this tour to a walking guided tour of Florence city centre on request.
