Among our Tuscany wine tours, we are proud to offer our best-seller: the Private Chianti Wine Tour from Florence. This exclusive experience starts directly from your accommodation in Florence or from any town in Tuscany and takes you into the heart of the Chianti wine region, where you will enjoy an authentic and refined Chianti wine tasting experience at selected local wineries.

Travel comfortably in our luxury private vehicles as we drive through the scenic back roads of the Chianti hills, surrounded by vineyards of Sangiovese grapes, olive groves and charming stone farmhouses. These landscapes, once home to peasants and noble families, today host prestigious estates dedicated to Chianti Classico wine production.

Your tour includes a stop in one of the most charming medieval villages of the area, Greve in Chianti. Here you will have free time to stroll through the main square, enjoy a cappuccino or a first glass of Chianti wine, and browse local artisan shops, while your English-speaking driver-guide introduces you to Tuscan rural life and traditions.

The experience continues with a visit to a carefully selected Chianti winery, where local winemakers will welcome you for a guided tour of the historic cellars. You will learn about the traditional production methods of Chianti Classico DOCG, made primarily from Sangiovese grapes and aged in noble wooden barrels, which give the wine its structure, elegance and aging potential.

You will then enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch, featuring homemade local dishes, each course perfectly paired with a different Chianti wine, for a complete food and wine tasting experience.

After lunch, there will be time to relax and take unforgettable photos in the Tuscan countryside, among vineyards and olive trees, before heading to a second Chianti wine estate.

This second winery is selected to complement the first tasting and deepen your understanding of Chianti wines and their production techniques. During this part of the tour, your driver will also share practical tips on wine tasting and insights into the history and characteristics of Tuscan wines.

At the second winery, the winemakers will welcome you for another exclusive Chianti wine tasting, allowing you to compare styles, aromas and aging methods.

Two winery visits are usually included, but upon request, our office will be happy to arrange a third Chianti winery visit for an additional wine tasting experience.

HISTORY NOTES

The origins of vine cultivation in Tuscany are lost in the mists of time.

Already our Etruscan ancestors 6 centuries B. C. were famous for the production of Chianti wine which was transported in amphorae through the Mediterranean ports.

The Chianti region, which stretches between Florence and Siena has become famous since Roman times. The gentle, well-lit hills, the warm summer and cold winter climate, the very stony soil in which rain is drained quickly and flows into small rivers at the bottom of the valleys, the oak and pine forests that maintain an exceptional microclimate for the cultivation of vine have made Chianti wine production area one of the most important in Italy and among the most famous in the world. If you are in Tuscany you can't help but see and tasting Chianti.
