During the Charm of Chianti Wine tour you will explore the flavor of one of the most famous wines in the world which is closely linked to the millenary history of its territory and of its traditions dating back to ancestral times, before the foundations of ancient Rome.
You will cross the sunny valleys, enclosed between the hills where the vineyards hide among the oak woods and the silver-colored olive groves. The narrow country roads, flanked by stone walls, will bring you close to the monasteries, surrounded by the tall dark cypresses that, like sentinels, are protecting the slow passage of time. You will see the ancient country houses and the villas of the Florentine nobles who where used to come to rest in the area.
You will stop to visit Greve in Chianti, perhaps the most famous village in the area, where you can walk in the square surrounded by the arches of the porches where the shops of the artisans, the butchers, the cafes offering gelato overlook.

Soon after you will visit the first farmhouse boutique high quality winery where you will be introduced to the Chianti Classico wine making process, about the different approaches and techniques, according to the rules that have guaranteed the quality of its production for more than 300 years and will learn about the millenary olive oil tradition.
You will be guide to taste up to 5 wines of different quality and vintages.

 

Afterwards you will head to a second family owned winery where in addition to another short tour of the property and a second explanation on the secrets of Chianti you will enjoy an excellent fresh home made lunch based on typical Tuscan products, such as bruschetta with local Extra-virgin olive oil, Tuscan salami, Tuscan prosciutto, some Pecorino cheese, a good plate of pasta and to finish the famous cantuccini with Vinsanto, the local sweet wine, which, since time immemorial, put an end to the Tuscan lunch. Obviously, lunch will also be accompanied by the tasting of different certified Chianti Classico and High quality Supertuscan wines and their explanation by the producers.

 

During the tour there will be time to walk and take pictures or simply relax with a view of the countryside or the square. IMPORTANT We inform all our guests that every citizen or visitor must show the Green Pass or a proof of Covid vaccination, or the negative result of the Covid test 48 hrs prior the tour, as well as a document of recognition at the entrance of every indoor bar, restaurant, wineries. Those who do not possess the above mentioned documents will NOT be able to join the tour. No exceptions or refund will be made.

 

IMPORTANT We inform you that for the safety of everyone it is not allowed to consume drinks and food inside the vehicle while traveling. It is possible to consume water and take any food or drink with you to be consumed during the tour outside the vehicle. Please make sure that the food is carefully stored so as not to disturb the other members of the group or to damage the vehicle.

 

IMPORTANT The activity level is very easy: limited walking ad a few stairs, however due to uneven surfaces and stairs to access the cellars, we regret to inform that the tour is not suitable for people with wheelchair or with impaired mobility. (We are able to provide a quote for a private tour).

 

IMPORTANT Please check carefully the meeting point directions in advance and ask us any information you need the day before. We cannot hold the tour for late arrivals. If you show up late or cannot find the meeting point, for any reason, refunds will not be issued. It is not possible to join the tour after it has started.

 

We highly recommend to arrive a few minutes earlier than check-in time to enjoy the tour from the beginning and to help in maintaining the good mood of the group.

 

The tour ends at the same place of departure, normally around 4 pm even if the exact return time depends on traffic, so in case you need to reserve other activities we highly recommend to allow plenty of time.

 

COLLABORATION

 We will ask you to cooperate and follow the rules that the driver will show you. In particular it is made obligation to wear the mask during the travels, that it should cover mouth and nose, to observe the disposition that is assigned to you in car, to sanitize the hands before entering on the vehicle.

We appreciate knowing if you have received the vaccine or if you have had a negative test.

It is mandatory to inform our organization before departure if you have or have had symptoms associated with Covid 19 disease in the previous 15 days.

It is mandatory to report if you have had Covid 19 disease and if you still have a viral load, even if low.

It is mandatory to report if you have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid 19 or who has contracted the disease in the previous 15 days.
